"Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37-38
This is what we desire of our lives to live the life of a living sacrifice, to bring the word of reconciliation to the world, and to worship the true and living God with all of our being.
We desire to go to Italy because we have seen the hand of the Lord calling us to this place and orchestrating our lives to bring us there to serve Him and His body.
Our initial experience with Italy came through attending Calvary Chapel Bible College Italy. Our intention was to stay for a single semester, however, the Lord lead us both back for a second term in 2010. During that time we met each other and a compassion for the people in Italy began to develop.
In the spring of 2011, while James was finishing up his internship at the Bible College and Victoria was a student, we planned to get married and move to England by the end of summer. Instead, we individually felt the Lord leading us to stay in Italy. When we finally spoke of it to each other we decided to wait on the Lord and pray for confirmation. The Lord definitely answered this prayer through His word, through the leadership of the church, and through the Bible College staff in Montebelluna.
We are excited to be working with Craig Quam the Pastor of Calvary Chapel Montebelluna, and Brian Cambra, the director of the Bible college as well as the other staff.
Italian is a beautiful language and we are excited for the opportunity to learn the language better. Quite a few of the church members and also many others in the city speak English, which is a blessing. Our heart however, is to learn the native tongue so that we will be able to share Jesus Christ with everyone around us. Italian studies take up a good chunk of our time as well through classes and also personal study.
Please continue to pray for us and the Lord's plan for our lives and that all that we do would be done for His glory!
